Any business in Victoria Saanich Saanichton Langford Colwood Nanaimo Comox Duncan Courtenay Campbell River Ladysmith Parksville Port Alberni with 20 or more employees (overall) is required to have a Joint Health and Safety Committee in place. All members of your committee must receive their 8 hours of jhsc johsc josh joint health and safety committee training from an external provider. It is ideal to have 6 members trained. 4 required by law (present at each meeting for a quorum; and 2 alternates). 2 management reps and 4 employees reps is ideal. You may need more members on your committee depending upon the size of your business, number of locations and total number of employees. ​You are required by law to have one meeting per month.

You may then forward the study material to each participant. There is no time limit to complete this course and it is self paced. Each participant receives up to 3 attempts to pass the exams and must receive a 80% minimum mark on each exam. The risk of failing the written exams is very low. If for any reason you receive less than 80% on your exams - we will email you to relook at the questions.
6. Complete all 3 exams and email the exams back to us for marking (JHSC, Accident Investigation and Workplace Inspections). You can scan the exams or take pictures of each exam page when emailing us the exams. Each student can have access to a personal PC with internet or you can situate your team in a classroom and project our instructor from an audio/video setup.
