COURSE DESCRIPTION Our Online Ladder Safety training course is in full compliance with the BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulations & Workers Compensation Act. In Canada, some 60,000 workers get injured annually due to fall accidents. Majority of these falls will result in serious injury or death. Provinces across Canada regulate the use of ladders in all workplaces because the improper use of a ladder could cause significant injury. Anyone who utilizes a ladder in BC must comply and obtain the necessary training in order to reduce or eliminate worker injuries. Our online ladder safety training course will cover all applicable WorkSafeBC OHSR legislation, importance of ladder safety, types of ladders (extension, platform and step), ladder rating and selection, inspecting ladders, proper care and storage, and controlling hazards (set up and use). This course is intended to increase ladder safety awareness for use within Ontario workplaces and at home. It is appropriate for various work environments including manufacturing, municipalities, utilities, and office environments. It may be applicable in construction environments, although construction specific issues such as scaffolding are not covered in this course. |
