Lead is a highly toxic material that can cause severe neurological disorders and cancer. Lead is often found in the renovation, demolition, manufacturing, and recycling industries. One of the best ways to protect workers against lead exposure is to practise good hygiene at work.
Silica is one of the most common hazards on a worksite, particularly in the construction, oil and gas, manufacturing, and agriculture industries. Silica dust can cause silicosis, a serious and irreversible lung disease. It can also cause lung cancer. Cutting, breaking, crushing, drilling, grinding, or blasting concrete or stone releases the dust. As workers breathe in the dust the silica settles in their lungs.
Our 4 silica & lead awareness training program teaches participants how to identify locations where silica and lead may be present and find sections of the silica & lead regulations which deal with the classification of silica and lead work. It will guide you through all aspects of silica and lead, from the hazards that are associated with silica and lead to how to protect yourself with safe work practices.

DURATION & LOCATION: 4 hour in-class training program includes both theory and practical hands-on training. Course is only available on-site at our client's facility. COMPLIANCE: Our silica and lead awareness training program is in compliance and meets or exceeds with the WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety regulation. |
